Material information
Khadi is handwoven using yarn spun on a manual spinning wheel called a charkha. Made from natural fibres, Khadi products are natural and eco-friendly. The hand-spinning process produces soft, twisted yarn, which gives the fabric a breathable texture and a rich feel. Neps (knots in the yarn) are a unique feature of hand-spun fabrics, as are unevenness in the weave due to hand weaving and colour variations caused by climate changes.
Precautions
Fabrics produced in India are cut and sewn by hand, so there may be slight variations in size even for the same product, and the pattern may be misaligned depending on the cutting location. Some products also use fabrics that emphasize texture, so there may be slight imperfections in the weave or pilling. Printed items are hand-printed by skilled artisans using screens or woodblocks, so color variations, unevenness, or fading may occur depending on the weather, temperature, humidity, and condition of the fabric. However, this is part of the unique texture that can only be achieved by hand printing. To ensure long-term use, please hand wash. Also, please avoid drying in a dryer, as this may damage or shrink the fabric.
