The president was awarded the Silver Prize at the 1967 Skills Olympics and International Championships in Furniture in Spain, commensurate with the company's name Takumi Kogei. Since then, I have been passing on my skills to the next generation of young craftsmen without hesitation, and I am one of those who preserve the quality and tradition of Asahikawa furniture. Designer Noriyuki Ekina created a refined form. After graduating from the design department of Hokkaido Tokai University, I gained experience at a furniture manufacturer in Asahikawa and became independent. At the international furniture competition held in Asahikawa in 1996, he had a brilliant career that he was awarded the best silver award as a Japanese at the time. In addition, designs created with an international sense while being familiar with the local materials and environment have a Scandinavian furniture-like feel despite being domestically produced.

The beautifully stretched fabric uses a genuine leather material called Newsmousse. It is a luxury leather with an inherent texture of leather without any processing such as mold pressing. Also, because the surface is treated with urethane, it is excellent in water resistance and wear resistance. In addition, this material is attractive for its moist smoothness, and together with the elasticity of the cushion that pursues comfort in sitting, it creates a healing space for everyday life.
The material for the frame is a walnut with deep brown, together with cheeks and mahogany, it is said to be one of the three largest trees in the world. The strong and hard texture is perfect for furniture, and the beautiful wood grain and thick feel are attractive. Using such a rare material, we created a fascinating form that looks as if the branches of a tree were attached as they were. Moderately oil-containing wood produces an elegant gloss and adds to shine by continuing to use it.
