A basket I learned to weave from my grandmother
Founded in 1886 in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, Toru Sunami Shoten manufactured mats made from rush grass. Currently, Takataka Sunami, the fifth-generation owner, hand-makes baskets one by one using the weaving technique he learned from his grandmother. The baskets, woven from rush grass ropes, are very strong. Please use them every day as a daily tool.
Multipurpose storage basket woven from rushes
A simple square-shaped, stable storage basket. It is the perfect size to store towels, clothes, kitchen utensils, magazines, toys, etc. It has a handle, so you can carry your child's outing kit or work tools in it and take it into the car. I love the changes that occur over time that only natural materials can offer
"Igusa" is the raw material for tatami mats. As you use it, it will become soft to the touch and turn a rich brown color. The more you use it, the more it will develop its own unique texture and you will grow to love it.
